For that 2 days, Anna's Lalaland was created. =) And the privlege passes brought babe to all over sg. Though many things went unplanned and there were many glitches along the way, thanks for your ulitmate compromise and tolerance.
So we went to...
Other dishes that we ordered were just alright. Not that woohaa. But the xiaolongbao were not bad and the meatballs too. Then.... the plan was suppose to go teoheng. But the place was fully booked.. till 11pm. (We were there at around 4? ya, can you imagine?)
So... we went pool-ing instead. It had been such a long time since i last touch the cue hits the balls and clear the table. Wahhaha. But it was damn fun. 4 games... and i won...
After that, after much piss-ness and stuff, we finally made our way to Renaldo's apple strudel place at eastwood centre.
Oh man. It's damn good. I thought the thing should be warm, but the apples inside were surprisingly cold. And together with the earl grey, they just taste heavenly. So that sort of concludes the first day of adventure and misadventures.
On the day when babe turned a year older, we went to try out this restaurant at Valley point. Heck, i reached at the appointment timing but why didnt they do the special for me??! =(
So this was the place:
The interior was wonderful. And they really promised their window seat which was atad warm cos of the afternoon sun. And they had seating arrangements arranged too. The lady's seat has 2 seats. Which one basically for your butt and the other for your bag. Wonderful or not. And the waitstaff was humourous. I think babe really enjoyed his presence and presentations. Eyerolling for me.
Anyways, before the starter, we had this pre-starter of mango sherbet. (if i didnt remember wrongly)
It was a refreshing shot with the hint of mango. Excellent for the start of the meal. And the presentation was just gorgeous.
Next up, we had our starter which was the chef's seasonal assorted platter
Consisting of the scallop, which were super juicy. The foie gras was the sweetest i've ever tasted since the bad experience at another restaurant. It just melts away. And together with the, i think is bread or smthg crispy, it just go well to the throat. And the salmon, finishes the starter dish well. The salmon topped with the cream sauce and the peppermint leaf at the bottom is just soo marvellous!
After that we had our hot dish. Mine was the Tempura soft shell crab. It's the first time i eat softshell crab, where i can easily taste the crabmeat. And its not powdery at all. And the tempura vegetables: daikon, egg and others sit on top of the sweet potatoe mash was great.
And babe had the escargot.
It was wonderful. There wasnt any shell-ly taste as i thought it would be. But just that maybe the butter was a little too heavy for this hot dish ba.
Then its the seafood bisque. Which unfortunately didnt quite suit the tastebuds of both of us.
The taste was very seafoody. But i guess its just tooo much until 3-4 mouthfulls are enough. And taste aside, i really dont very much like the presentation of the crab claw. I dont know, but it just looks odd. Period.
And the main dish, which i was looking forward to!! Babe's Beef tenderloin on pu-ye.
Ooh. It's just so juicy and succulent and whatsnot. The pu-ye is actually the leaf on the bottom of the beef from japan. Eh..i guess the juicy beef overtook me that i didnt really 'tasted' how the pu-ye taste like. But the presentation was wonderful on a granite ontop of pebbles.
Babe's experience with the beef tenderloin...
- Spread the beef slices on the pu-ye leaf. And wait. Patiently
- Dip the beef slice into the special sauce
- Taste. Chew slowly
- Be satisfied!
And mine was King prawns!!
Oh man. It just look soo great when they serve. Cos the prawns were soo BIG, i like!! Topped with cheese and baked. With the risotto is mum mum. But the prawns were hard to pry from the shell. I had a tough battle with it, before i can savour the sweetness of my victory!
Next came the drinks with our desserts.
Babe had roselle and i had the mallow apple. Roselle is actually 洛神花. Which gives a refreshing sour taste to the end of the meal. And my mallow apple? Very mallow.
Here's the desserts.
The yam cake topped with a crispy layer of cracker and ice cream on top was wonderful.
The warm chocolate cake which oozes out chocolate is great.
We ended our lunch before 3.30pm. Which they gently reminded us 15mins before their closing. A little rush, but overall a great experience.
Yup. After than we met Pei for movie: Chocolate.
Man. It's one of the few action movies that have a storyline. And the main lead just fight damn well. I want to learn: Somersalt highkick. Oh man.. i want her as my master. Woohoo! She really fights real well, catch the movie if you can. All her moves and stances were very well composed and... woa. I can't say more. But she looks like a mad girl with her hair all over her face
2 Wonderful days!
... and You still have a complimentary ticket....
