DAY TWO

Started the day in the morning at ximending area, cos we had a tour in the afternoon. Interesting shops that we saw...
Yes, you are not seeing things. They have bee chin heng in tw.
And this dog is definitely a very good marketing tool

Kfc-ed for some egg tarts and pizza nuggets.
Do try the kfc egg tarts, they are fantastic, crispy and eggy. Yum yum even for someone like me who doesnt like egg tarts.

Tour bused to our first stop at 南雅風化石.

Water washed and wind blowed to cause these formations. Didnt really have much time for snapping, the tour guide used a powerful tactic to make us leave the place.
He said, come, let me help to take a photo, ok ok, very nice, lets go to our next stop.

Then its to 九份老街 to soak up some touristy atmosphere, but besides that the area was cool overlooking scenery were excellent, the trip up the hill was vomit inducing.

This is the raw ba wan. I thought what was it at first, its has a disgusting pink hint to it. Urgh. And they sell it like that.

Nonetheless, its the place to have some nice smelly tofu (which is not at all smelly when you eat it) and shop for some snacks.

Overall, the tour was not really worth it, if its possible, try to go on your own, although it may be more ma fan but you get to taste the whole place at your pace

After that, headed to longshan temple. Although its near to 7+pm, the temple was still alive with many many devotees. The incense and smoke was overwhelming. The whole temple was huge too.

And they said, there's always food near the temples in tw. True true true.

Huaxi NM once used to be place where tourists go for live snake skinning. Snake whatever whatever, anything you can think of, they had it once there.

But now, there were only a few stalls with prominent snakes displayed outside their storefront. There wasnt any touting of snake meat or what.

So, food, food and more food.

Baked corn and the ba wan.
